This involved the identification of the long-term strategic needs for flood-related hydrometric and meteorological data in Ireland, including strategic management requirements for effective data collection and provision of flood related information.
#HEC RAS CULVERT MODULE SOFTWARE#
As well as a comprehensive review of the existing network and assessment of requirements to meet future initiatives, software tools for and guidance on network management were developed. The work was undertaken in two phases: i) River Gauging Network, ii) Rainfall Gauging Network. From January 2007 to September 2010, we carried out an extensive national review of the hydrometric network in England and Wales on behalf of the Environment Agency. We have an impressive track record in relation to delivering strategic hydrometric studies: The course price is £600 (+VAT) per attendee.įor more information about training courses provided by JBA Consulting, visit our dedicated Training Course page. Format: This course will be delivered in person. Want to know more?Įmail our Training team to book your place on this course. Gavin has also been involved in testing Beta versions of HEC-RAS. The output from the modelling has been used to inform the decision-making process in relation to flood hazard planning and flood alleviation scheme appraisal. He has produced models for clients such as The World Bank, Environment Agency and Network Rail. Gavin has undertaken a wide range of studies utilising the functionality of HEC-RAS. Gavin is one of our senior modellers based in our Skipton office. By the end of these training modules you will be able to:Ībout the trainer – Gavin Hodson, BSc FdSc MCIWEM C.WEM Throughout the course you will build on real world examples to understand and demonstrate the capabilities of the software. The course will then move on to cover 1D-2D hydrodynamic hydraulic models and RAS Mapper.
#HEC RAS CULVERT MODULE HOW TO#
This course will introduce you to HEC-RAS software and how to construct a simple 1D model, including the consideration of structures such as weirs, bridges and culverts within HEC-RAS, and floodplain representation. No prior knowledge or experience of HEC-RAS is required, although some knowledge of river modelling/hydraulics will be beneficial. Project managers, engineers and hydraulic modellers requiring an overview of the HEC-RAS software and practical tuition on the use of HEC-RAS.
HEC-RAS essentials – Book your place here This two-day course is tailored to give attendees an essential overview of the hydraulic modelling software HEC-RAS. The course modules will cover how to construct a simple 1D model including structures such as weirs, bridges and culverts, to developing a 1D-2D hydrodynamic hydraulic model.
